We are the President/CEO and Board Chair of the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance, we regularly see how the Bankhead Theater strengthens our community. TVNPA uses the Bankhead for our nonprofit education programs, as well as our annual Mayors’ Panel. At these gatherings nonprofit, business, and civic leaders build relationships that lead to new collaborations serving residents across the Tri-Valley. TVNPA also hosts our annual Power of Giving event there, honoring nonprofits and the people they serve, with 371 attendees this year. In 2024, we partnered with the Livermore Chamber to bring the Women in Business Symposium to the Bankhead, which we plan to continue.

We attend many other organizations’ events and fundraisers at the Bankhead. It serves as an accessible, welcoming, and central home for civic life, philanthropy, arts, and culture. It is one of the key engines of connection, collaboration, and community pride in Livermore.

The Bankhead Theater is an artistic landmark for the region. It is recognizable by many across the Bay Area and Central Valley. The Bankhead is a major reason many travel to Downtown Livermore from afar. This has a major positive impact for the community, local economy, and overall quality of life.

Livermore Valley Arts, the nonprofit managing the Bankhead Theater has activated the arts in the area for a long time and is responsible for the artistic activities, programs, and events that continue to occur in our community. LVA is also an artistic and cultural resource for many artists and community culture bearers. Partnerships with LVA build their capacity and sustainability. This is much needed as the arts, culture, and entertainment continue to grow in the region.

In this chaotic nonprofit climate, the arts are getting lost in the shuffle. LVA needs financial support from multiple sources to continue being the beacon of hope and building the arts and culture in the region.
