Agenda Item

5.1) Hearing to consider a request for a Conditional Use Permit for a restaurant and entertainment venue in an existing Downtown commercial building. In addition to being a restaurant, the business would provide a variety of entertainment options on the weekends including country line dancing, live music, trivia nights, karaoke, mechanical bull riding, and private events. No exterior modifications are proposed.

With the decline of country dancing in California, probably few people know about the special place of Tri-Valley community in the history of country and swing dancing, with many iconic figures associated with the area. I am very hopeful that this venue will help with the revival of this American tradition, which brings together people of sometimes surprisingly different backgrounds, which in turn would have great benefits for the Tri-Valley community. I do not want to dismiss the typical concerns over the impact of this type of business on the immediate vicinity, but I would like to think that the clientele will be respectful of the neighbors and that the commission considers the promise of the broader positive impact.

This place will be an amazing addition to downtown Livermore. It will have a chance to enrich Livermore’s already rich cowboy history. That particular part of downtown could use a boost. I dont see anymore issues than you have with other bars in the area. Please let this happen!

Would love to see a new line dancing spot in the Bay Area! I don’t come out to Livermore often but this would definitely attract my friends and I on the weekends. Line dancing is such a positive/ great space for so many to cut loose and dust their boots off. Very excited to check it out!

Stampede has the potential to be a great addition to Livermore, bringing a unique business that celebrates the city’s rich cowboy history while contributing to local economic growth. Its location is ideal for attracting both residents and visitors, enhancing the vibrancy of downtown.

For those concerned about parking, most patrons will likely use Lyft and Uber, as is common with nightlife venues. Additionally, the new parking garage being built downtown will further alleviate any parking concerns. Supporting new businesses like this helps create a more diverse and thriving local economy.

I agree with the points made in the public comment letter on the agenda...parking is already a huge problem downtown. I live just a couple streets away from this place and already on weekends there's always random cars parked in front of my house. The streets are dark at night and I'm always concerned a drunk driver is going to hit a person or other cars when leaving from downtown late. A person was just hit recently! This place is only going to worsen that. The parking lot behind this is always full from the businesses already open (Zephyr and the Vine), and the parking garage is too far away to be any help. I hope the city reconsiders allowing another new "bar" downtown...open it somewhere else where it won't negatively impact us residents that are already struggling to feel safe and park in front of our own homes...

I strongly OPPOSE this kind of business being introduced to our downtown. Just the fact that it will require 4 security guards on duty concerns us to the type of customers that this type of business may bring. We are also very concerned about the impact to our neighborhood, like safety, traffic, parking, and overall atmosphere. THIS TYPE OF ENTERTAINMENT DOES NOT BELONG IN OUR DOWNTOWN AREA!

As a future resident of Livermore this summer and an LLNL intern, I am thrilled about the possibility of a line dancing bar in town. As someone who is part of the line dancing community in my college town, I fully support this and believe it would be an amazing addition to the Livermore community.
