“I would like to request language be added to ensure equitable distribution of fuels. So that both 100LL and unleaded are both available via pump and truck. We should not allow ‘distribution means’ to advantage one fuel over another.

On pricing. How will pricing be set? Will we apply the same formula currently applied to 100LL to unleaded? If, it is decided to make one pump unleaded and one pump 100 LL, if one of the pumps go INOP, then the truck pricing for either 100 LL or unleaded should be adjusted to the self serve price for the duration of the outage.”

I am a private pilot and own an aircraft hangared at LVK. I live directly off the departure end of runway 25R in Pleasanton. While I would welcome the use of unleaded fuel in my airplane as it is better for the engine, maintenance wise, there are still some considerations that need to be addressed before this can be safely done. Most importantly, while unleaded fuels are tested for compatibility (miscibility) with 100LL, they are not tested for compatibility with each other. In other words, if I have a half a tank of UL94 purchased at one airport, and fill up with G100UL at another, the impact on engine performance including engine failure is unknown. In addition, while some fuels are already approved for most aircraft and testing is underway for others, refining and distribution are not available on the scale required at this time. Please take the time to address these issues before mandating adoption.

Ronald L. Baskett, resident of Pleasanton, Certified Consultant Meteorologist and Chair, Tri-Valley Air Quality Climate Alliance (TVAQCA). I strongly support the Fixed Based Operator (FBO) must provide Unleaded Avgas (UL94, 100GAMI, 100UL) as soon as practical. Decades of research have shown that piston-engine aircraft runup, taxi and takeoff operations produce significantly harmful lead levels within a mile downwind of runways. TVAQCA and Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) concur that now is the time for the City of Livermore to fund the installation of unleaded gas stations at LVK.
