Opposition to any expansion at Livermore Airport. The noise generated from aircraft is intolerable already. I have on many occasions contacted the airport tower, Airport manager and staff, City Manager, FAA, and noise complaint line, all with no remedy to the unruly pilots that circle the airport as much as 50 times in a single flight, and almost every single day. Yet no one at the airport or city hall has done anything to mitagate the noise or danger posed by these particular pilots. And while these vintage and racing aircraft are a nuisance, the jets currently flying in and out of the airport are even louder and more disruptive. Let me stress that there are measures that could alleviate the worst of offensives coming from the airport, but no one really cares except those of us that live in the residences surrounding it. And up-wind in Pleasanton and Dublin. The claims of <85 db from 737's are far from correct and should be carefully scrutinized. Do not allow this invasive proposal!
The expansion of the airport runway is opposed. I urge the council to explore all paths open to the Council while not violating FAA requirements to prevent expansion of the airport. There are no recognizable benefits to the citizens of Livermore for the expansion. There is even the possibly that lack of Council ending the expansion will generate opposition to that action. We have already seen divisive animosities generated with the recent downtown expansion/renovation, and do not want those repeated. The FBO business owners behind the expansion are not Livermore citizens, so should not have the benefits accruing to our community. In fact, they should not also contribute to its disruption.
